Worship and Send Offs

I saw CYT's North production of Godspell this weekend. Incredible. It was so moving; I have no doubt that show and it's cast were anointed. There are no words to say how much this show meant to me.

Because I was in the original camp however many years ago and that's when my love for this show and the things it represented began. Ever since that camp, my passion for spreading the Gospel in the arts has grown exponentially, and to see it performed again in a way that accurately portrayed Christ and His love for us meant the world to me.

Second, I was wholly impressed with the cast. Literally, EVERYONE did an incredible job. This is not an easy show to take on, and they took it and killed it. It was great too, because it was very obvious to me that the whole show was an act of worship. Not one person in that cast did anything in that show to stroke their ego. No, in every little thing any one in that cast did, it was clearly done for the glory of the Lord as an act of worship, which made it even more of a privilege to see.

Third, there were 17 seniors in this cast. 17. Probably one of the biggest graduating classes CYT KC has ever seen. Needless to say, the end of strike was incredibly sad and involved a lot of crying, more than usual. I have to say though, I am so proud of the senior class. It has been such an honor to watch these incredible young people grow up into the wonderful men and women they are today. I have known some of them longer than others, but I am SO proud of every single one of them. The Lord has such big plans for each and every single one of you, and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for you. :-)

However, just because you are done with CYT does not mean you are dead. This is not goodbye, more like "see you later". We have had the privilege of knowing you so far, and now, we are sending you out to the world to spread His joy and light to the nation(s). You are still young and there are so many incredible things in store for all of you, but no matter what, remember, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Phillipians 1: 3-9

"3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God."

This is my benediction and send off for all you all. Class of 2011, you are loved and treasured.
