Hello again blogging world!
It has definitely been over a year since I last updated. A lot has been going on in my life and the Lord has done some great things.
First, I am now in a position at my job that I love. I now work for the help desk, which mainly consists of helping people install printers on their computers or changing their passwords because they forgot them. I really enjoy this role because this role really gives me a chance to use my PR skills. Most of the people who call in are not in the best of moods and are very grumpy. I am finding that a little empathy and a smile in my voice can go a long way to ease tensions and general grumpiness.
Second, I am currently church hunting and last Sunday, I attended a very small church that is just beginning called the New City Church. This church is only about 3 months old, but I was very impressed and really enjoyed the service when I went. Plus, they have an 11 am service which is great for those days when I have trouble getting out of bed before 9. The pastor is a man from Arkansas who appears to really have a heart for the Lord and is really passionate about outreach and directing people to Jesus. Plus, they have cookies. Who can resist free cookies?! If you are interested in checking it out, visit their website! http://www.newcitychurchkc.org/
Thirdly, it's almost summer and I'll admit, I am really looking forward it to for several reasons. First, Starlight Theatre has an AMAZING season that has me thinking about buying a season pass. http://www.kcstarlight.com/theatre.aspx I mean, I want to see ALL of them! I was also looking forward to seeing John Meyer at Starlight until he decided to cancel his tour. *grumble* As a way to make up for it though, Eric Hutchinson is going to be at the Beaumont Club June 18th for only 20 bucks!! To make it even sweeter, two of my college friends will be joining me for this wonderful concert! I couldn't be more excited!
On a completely unrelated note, I became obsessed with the Hunger Games over the the last year, and yes, I saw the film, and yes, I loved it. I can list my reasons for loving these books, but that's a post for another time.
Until next time friends!
You haven't posted in so long that I forgot it was you for a few minutes! ;)
